Welcome to the Home of the Mountain Lions! We are Mountain View Elementary, one of five schools in the Santa Cruz Valley Unified School District No. 35, and are located in Rio Rico, Arizona. We are proud of our highly qualified staff, our supportive and involved volunteers, and the students who make it all worthwhile.

We hope you enjoy browsing our website to get to know our school better. Whether you’d like to contact a teacher, find information about the dress code, or learn more about how to become involved, you’ll find all that and much more on this site.

A Message from our Principal

Dear Parents,

The first half of the year has been a success at Mountain View, and I am enjoying working with your children and their teachers very much. We have much to accomplish in this new year, and with it, the learning of the school year continues now. The start of the second semester can be difficult. People are tired after coming off winter break, students are out of practice with routines and procedures, and mornings are cold and dark. You can help us be there for your children by doing several things.

  • Leave for school early and plan to arrive no later than 7:25 a.m. every morning. This will ensure students are in class when the bell rings. Please do not arrive late. Students arriving late disrupt learning for all.
  • Help your children be present by getting enough rest and staying healthy so they can be at school every day.
  • Create time at home for students to do homework and read nightly.
  • Communicate with teachers and administrative team whenever needed. We are here to serve your children and your families.
  • Talk with your children about what they can do to reach their personal best every day.

Mountain View continues to look at ways to make your children's school experience wonderful. As principal, I look at how I would like things to be for my own children. In other words, I'm thinking like a parent constantly. I want to keep your kids safe, healthy, and in a position to receive the best education possible every day. If you have any questions or comments, you can reach me at 375-8402.

Gratefully Your Partner In Education,

Principal Jackson
